Drug abuse and HIV
For people that use injectable drugs, the risk of exposure to diseases are 80% bigger that the usage of other types of drugs. Apart from the fact that this are the most common ways of getting HIV from drug abuse, there is another thing you should consider. This virus practically shuts down the ability of the body to heal itself. If you have HIV and a wound, this will take longer to heal even if you are under treatment. You are much more sensitive to infections and other diseases that are nothing for ordinary people but can mean death to you. The infection can come in your blood by a dirty needle. So if you already have HIV, and you might think “well what can be worst, I can get a used needle”, then you must know that staphylococcus that other people’s body kill, it might kill you easily.
Also, using drugs and having this condition is a deadly combination. Because this virus eliminates your natural ability to protect yourself and by using drugs you weaken your body even harder. Drugs dehydrate, this means that they deprive you from the life source, water. Your body is more likely to collapse in a few years or even earlier to a few months depending on how resistant your body is, and on how luck you is. Final stage not treated its certain death where not even the best of the doctors can help you.
So, drugs can get you HIV that in combination will eventually kill you. Feeling sorry when it’s too late, doesn’t apply in this case with better late than never.
